History and General Information

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (İİBF) has been established attached to the Gazi University, according to the Law number 2809 on the replacement of number 41 Decree Law for Organization of Higher Education Institutions, and to the Law number 3837 on the replacement of number 78 and number 190 Decree Laws, published in 11.07.1992 date and 21281 numbered official register, and has been opened in 1997 with the name of the Gazi University Çorum Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Started education in 1998-1999 within Gazi University with 70 students in the Business Administration Department and had its first graduates in 2001-2002, our faculty has been attached to the newly established Hitit University in 2006.

In the following years, Department of Economics has been opened in 2003, Departments of Public Administration and Public Finance have been opened in 2005. With an application to the Higher Education Council, Public Administration Department has been renamed as Political Science and Public Administration, to restructure it depending on the developments in political science and international relations.

Secondary education programmes in Business Administration, Economics, and Political Science and Public Administration Departments has been opened in 2007, 2008, and 2010 respectively. Department of Banking and Finance started education in 2013 with its 30 students.

Department of International Relations, and Departments of Health Management and International Trade and Logistics has been established in 2012 and 2014, respectively, and working on the intake of students in these departments are in progress.  Finally in 2016, the Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations has been established. As of today (2016 / January), our faculty has reached a total of 9 departments (5 active and 4 inactive though work for student intake is ongoing) and continuing education with 52 instructor and 3046 student.

While in 2011 there were MSc programmes only in Business Administration and Economics Departments, as of 2016 nearly 350 students continuing their postgraduate education in 5 MSc (with and without thesis) and 2 PhD programs in Business Administration, Economics, and Political Science and Public Administration Departments.
